Title: greetings from Indiana
Post by: jimmyo on March 25, 2007, 09:16:22 PM
I'm Jimmyo from southeast Indiana.  My sister in law and I have 7 hives.  We took 10 into winter. We've been keeping bees for 3 years.  I make most of our own equipment.  We get a spring harvest from Locust trees and harvest of golden rod in the fall around labor day if there's enough for us and the bees.

Welcome to the forums. You have black locust trees or the other one?

Sincerely,
Brendhan

We have Black Locust trees.  They bloom in the spring and the bees love them but they are only out a couple weeks.  Wind and rain can blow the blossoms right off.
