I am wondering when is it ok to unwrap/dewinterize my hive. The weather here is up in the 60s and sometimes 70s during the day but drops down to low 40s and 30's at night. I had 2 pieces of 1/2 inch insulation on 3 sides of the hive and under the cover. I took one piece of insulation off the sides so now the is 1/2 inch of insulation on 3 sides of the hive. Should I remove it all now or Waite or take it out from under the cover but leave the sides done....
I did a search for this info but did not find any post that answered the question.
Thanks
Greg,
Our hive has not been wrapped and things are booming. Extreme cold is gone so just make sure the hive has some feed stores and keep an eye on it.Just keep the ventilation!
Thanks Ken. I took the insulatoin off the outside of the hive but left the peice under the inner cover. I will probably take it off soon. It looks like they going through the remaining stores pretty fast. I may have to start feeding soon.
