Title: Install Package on PermaComb
Post by: MBrowne on April 02, 2007, 11:55:47 PM
This is a question for those that have used PermaComb. Because of the fixed spacers I had some trouble with placing the queen cage in between frames. I wound up removing one frame and crossing a frame between the gap (slightly diaganal). I figure it should do for a few days until I remove the queen cage.  Any other suggestions on solving the problem other than removing the spacers?

Thanks

I remove a frame and once they remove the queen I replace the frame. If they have been without a queen for 24 hours you can do a direct release.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

I usually direct release a queen with a package.  No problems with the cage.  When introducing a queen with a cage (which is usually not a package) I often use an Imirie shim or some other shim to make the room at the top for the cage and face the wire down between two frames.
