Title: Varroa Blaster
Post by: sean on April 13, 2007, 02:38:00 PM
Hi to all. Been reading up on the varroa blaster and i have a question. What is the effect the confectioners sugar on the honey. I seem to  have the mites and would rather use it than the apistan which i know might contaminate the honey.

Powdered sugar has no real effect on the honey.

The bees will clean it out of the hive.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

well i did the sugar thingy this evening on 3 colonies. but my extension officer should be coming by next week to inspect.  Kirk, i have some natural drawn comb which i will be using to start some  additional colonies. I am not sure what size we get on our foundation here i'll have to measure it
