Well today is day 12 since I installed 4 packages. I checked last week real quick to see if the queens were released and they were. I didn't have time to really look at the frames to see what the bees were doing. So, I decided to check today to make sure they were doing ok. I know I shouldn't go in that often but I am having a hard time figuring out when they frames will be full and another hive body added.
Anyway, all four hives seem to be doing very good. There were eggs, larva, honey and capped brood. About 5 frames have comb in two hives, one hive has about three frames, and one has almost 7.
I took 10.1mpx photos that turned out very good. Click on the thumbnail to see a bigger picture and then click on the big picture to see the HUGE picture with very good detail.
Each hive has a separate album. You can view them here.

So far, things seem to be going very good.
Excellent images! Especially love the macros. Thx for sharing. :)
I really like the top feeder you've got. Is it commerically available or home-built? (Floating slats)
I got the hive top feeder at Brushy Mountain.

Most digital camera's have a macro feature that allows for close up pictures from 1.5feet to 5cm..
The great part if setting max resolution so you can zoom in and still keep it clear.

I don't really know how I got them so clear. It is a 10mpx camera. I have been complaining about the camera and have been getting a lot of blurry pictures. I finally decided to read a little about the camera and set it to the full 10mpx setting and then set it to the flower setting. Guess I just got lucky setting it right because it captured some great pictures. Now, can I do it again next time? That's the question..,..
I have been studying picture after picture and can't find any queen....Lucky if I find a drone! I'm learning slowly...thanks to this forum!
Flawless pictures, I loved them.
the "flower setting" is the macro.. :)
Wow, what gorgeous photos!
Nice!
Great pictures - thanks for sharing them.
