Title: Black Pollen
Post by: Dane Bramage on May 10, 2007, 11:38:49 PM
Greetings,

I was at my little apiary today and noticed that all the bees were bringing in black (or very dark) pollen.  They were also bringing in some bright yellow stuff (likely apple) but I'm mostly curious about the black.  Has anyone seen this before?  I've got a few guesses but I thought I'd poll the group to see if anyone else has seen black/very-dark pollen and/or knows it's source.

Perhaps tulips? (they are blooming now here I believe.. somewhere, lol)

others?  I'll take some photos ASAP.

Cheers,
