Title: found my queen!
Post by: skullring on May 15, 2007, 09:26:26 PM
I was checking out the hive today and I had tons of emerging workers.  I also happened to run into the queen.  That was Luck not skill folks.   ;) I have been finding brood of all ages from eggs all the way to emerging bees but it is still good to get a look at her and know that she is in there doing her job.  I just added another deep brood box since they have now drawn out about 9 of the 10 frames in the first brood box.  Very exciting.

Great Job!  Even though you can easily see eggs and larva throughout the hive bodies, it is still satisfying to get a good look at the queen.  I quite often feel that I am spending too much time with an open box trying to find her.  But sometimes the satisfaction in finding her is worth the extra time with an exposed hive.
