I had 12 colonies last year. Lost 7 over the winter. Regained two back from swarms, one I know came from my colony. The other 50/50 it came from one of mine.
Here's the kicker, I go out today and did an estamate.
The one that swarmed the last week in March, both it and the swarm colony have at least 100 lbs. each ready to pull. The other swarm I got on Easter week also has about 100 lbs.
I had another colony that swarmed last week and wasen't able to get the swarm.
It was an 8 frame and I wanted to make it ten. So changing over got about 60 lbs from it.
Being conserative I figered I have between 400 and 500 lbs. ready for the extractor.
And its only Mid May.
