Title: already drawn out super frames...?
Post by: newbeeinlove on May 27, 2007, 04:41:22 PM

someone gave me super frames that are empty of any pollen but are already drawn out- where would these have come from and should I just cut them out and put new foundation in?

Drawn comb is an asset.  Use it as is.

Drawn comb is good. It takes resources/energy for the bees to build it. Keep the drawn comb, unless of course you need wood to heat your house, and wax to make candles so you can read.

I would think that they were frames which had the honey extracted from them. I would defantely use the frames and comb if they are in decent shape.
