I caught a swarm a few days ago and got them hived. They seem to be doing good now and I would like to know what breed of bees they are. They look different then my Italian but some of them look kind of the same. The Queen looks different for sure. I dont know what any of the others breeds look like so these might just be a cross of something.
Thanks
Greg

Look like honeybees to me. :-D
Sincerely,
Brendhan
I sure hope so ;)
They look like Caucasians to me (are there some still around?). Had some years ago, not overly productive, they had a tendency towards burr comb and more burr comb. They were gentle though.
I too have a hive that looks like that compaired to my two new packages. They will soon change, I requeened them last week. They are very strong and wintered well.

Greg, I would mark that queen. She will be difficult to find once the hive's numbers increase. Those are some very pretty bees!
They look just like my mongrels to me. Most hives have a mix of colors.
