Please check the Jun 12 photos out...I did not pull each frame out only a few..the ones I pulled did not have any eggs that I could see...there were a few drone larvae on the ends...none had varroa thank god...I didn't look for the Queen...it was hot and the bees seemed testy...Ihad a little head butting and a sting on my finger...I did notice some workers with their heads inside the cells, just their butts sticking out...is that a problem?

They look great! The bees you saw may have just emerged and are cleaning the cells!

Oh thank goodness...I was thinking I saw capped brood...guess I did..phew...I think Queenie was in the bottom deep this time...I only took 2 frames out of that one...

Wow, you are going to be boiling over with bees when all that capped brood emerges! Fantastic!

PS. Sometimes when the bees are bottoms up while you are inspecting, it's because your smoke inspired them to eat honey which extends their abdomens and makes it hard for them to bend around to sting!

One thing that I noticed in my Obs. hive is that (at least while queenless) there were a lot of bees that spent their time headfirst in cells. I think it is a way of maintianing heat, but also they are getting honey if they are smoked.

All that capped brood looks good.

Hey, Sharon, some pretty nice pictures taken. I love the device that you are using to lift out the frames. I didn't know something like that even existed. It reminds me of the device that I use to lift canning jars out of their water bath :roll: Sure saves on the hands. Have a wonderful day, great life. Cindi

Hey Cindi,

It is the frame grip holder...my DH likes it to lift out the heavy frames...I am happy to know that is capped brood!
