LET-CA

Was working out in the yard this morning and heard something unusual coming from one of the hives.  Upon closer inspection I found a full-fledged party going on!  Now I understand what a bee dance is.

those were cool, what did you do set up a video recorder in front of the hive or some sort of web cam

LET-CA, very nice video.  I love to see the bees when they bring in this pollen, I also think it is cool when they rub their back legs together, so cute.  Have a wonderful day, great life, love this life.  Cindi
There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service

I just loved watching these videos. It really made me laugh so hard, and it was very educational for me. You can really see how the bees interact with each other as they land. A lot of the time, they land on top of each other. I love the ones that are taking off.

Thank you for this little bit of pleasure!!!

Really good videos there. I've been meaning to do that my hives and have a few ideas for a good set up but my bees seem to hate my slr and video camera with a passion

I put my camcorder on the tripod about two feet in front of the hive and zoomed in.  The bees really don't like having someone right in front of their entrance so I set up the camera and walked away.  The thing that suprised me was the background music made a rather dry video kind of fun.  The soundtracks are available for free on YouTube.  I just sorted through until I found one that seemed to fit.  Here's one more that I changed.  The fiddle music really seems to capture the intensity of the action.  The bees were doing an orientation flight at the time.

Lenny, cool video and you're right, the violin music makes it all happen.  Great work and thanks.  Have a wonderful day, great life.  Cindi
