I was wondering what the going rate is in your area and what you pollinate.

Brian D. Bray

Depends on the crop, hives per acre requirement, etc.  Ballpark figure is $50.00 to $80.00 per hive.

here in Ga. the average prices the last few years were going from $40-$55 a hive, its not like other states like California that get from $140-$180 a hive, Im sure other states have their own prices also that are different.....

Since I live in Southern Oregon, I inquired about almond pollenation...I am told the going prince is $140-150 per hive...But the hive has to have 7 frames covered with bees.

I wonder what it would be up here in indiana? How would i find out?   :)

I found this info posted in the bee culture magazine jan 2007.  Region 7 -$47.83 average pollination fee colected.

Whatever the "going rate" is I won't haul them around for less than $50 a hive because it's too much work and too much gas for too little return otherwise.  If they can find someone cheaper, then that's less work I have to do.  :)

I like mine where they're at. I get a good early flow and then when it gets hot I can coast along, start my fall program, make queens , garden, etc.-etc. and on and on, oh well, ya'll get the pic.

I think I'm going to have to (eventually, when my hive count is respectable) network with some my neighboring state's organic almond farmers.  8-)  Be great way to jump start the season and get paid for doing so.
