Does anybody know where I can get pictures of the different types of honeybees that are available? I have Italians now and also a couple wild hives. I dont have any complaints with Italians(Bees also..hee hee...Oh, for crying out loud, Im getting goofy now...). I'm just interested in different colors mostly. One of the dudes from the bee club told me he had all yellow honeybees. I forgot to ask him what kind they were as there were alot of things going on around me. Im not even sure if they maybe "just showed up" at his place.
...Well, I guess thats all...I really do like this "Bee thing", even if I do get stung...It doesnt bother me as much like at first.

I don't know for sure, but I have one marked Italian queen from the bee store and all the bees are a beautiful golden yellow. I had heard that Italians generally have golden bees.

My other queen is a mutt and her bees are a dark brown.

It is very funny to watch my 2 hives together. One with the golden bees, one with the dark brown bees.

You have asked a loaded question. There are lots and lots of different types of honeybees.

Apis Dorsata (Giant Honey Bee) lots of sub species.

Apis Mellifera (Western Honey Bee) The kind we raise. Also includes all the types we talk about on the forums. Italians, Russians, AHB, Carniolans, and others. However let's dig some specfics out.

Apis mellifera ligustica, Italians

Apis mellifera carnica, Carniolan

Apis mellifera caucasica, Caucasians

Apis mellifera remipes

Apis mellifera mellifera. Darks, European Dark

But I bore easily. You should look here and then throw the name of each one into google image.

Brendhan

Nifty!
I am glad you added the Apis mellifera mellifera. Darks, European Dark. That one is robbing my bees syrup along with the hornets. I wondered what that was.
