Before I placed a queen in my queenless observation hive the workers were running around like crazy and were emitting a deep buzz. Now with the new queen they are relaxed and back to normal. It is easy to find the queen since the worker encircle her on the glass and comb. They are all over her more so then when they had a queen for a good period of time almost like they appreciate having a queen more than before.

Observation hives are so cool you can see and learn so much.  :-D
A swarm in May is worth a bale of hay.
A swarm in June is worth a silver spoon.
A swarm in July isn't worth a fly.

I am waiting 24 hrs to introduce my queen to the NUC that will become my OB hive. Have located it in the window where the hive will end up soon as I can build it. I took 3 frames from my busiest hive and really felt like a robber. Had planned to take 4 but ended putting a undrawn frame for the fourth. I figure they are inside so the three frames of brood, honey and pollen hopefully will be enough. The queen sullpier said to inspect tomorrow before introducing to be sure there are no queen cells before I place the queen.
