This is incredable. I had to open separate topic.  I have todays increase in weight 14#. They work like creasy. I actually added shallow supers to two hives. The best flow this year. I am curious if anybody in Massachusetts is having the same?  BTW I put shallow suppers on the second  deeps and under thirds full of honey but not capped yet. The second deeps were like 2/3 to 3/4 filled also. Are they going to move the nectar up to the empty shallow  I added, or will be filling it from the beginning. I am concerned about the room for the queen .

MY bees have been bringing in incredible amounts of pollen so I assume just as much or more nectar. Where they are putting it all I have no idea but I'm very happy about it! 80 degrees today.

You may want to look inside your hives. They may need extra supers. It is unbelivable, yesterday 27#!!! weight gain. I suppose it may be also honey dew.

Yes I am. Sixteen pound yesterday. Looks like it is slowing down. Harvest next week.

Nice to know someone is having a flow of some sort. 

I just showed my daughter how to guestimate the amount of honey in a hive by lifting the back up an inch or so.  She sure is enjoying learning beekeeping.  It makes me feel useful in passing my knowledge onto another generation.
I've been feeding my bees for 3 weeks now and the hives have gone from feather lite to fairly heavyso I'll stop feeding for a week or 2 then recheck to see if they have gotten lighter--if so I'll feed some more.  I decided to let the bees build excess burr comb for storage instead of adding another super as it was getting too late in the season.  The honey flows I've had this year have been so pour that I'm going into winter with 2 medium 5 or 8 frame boxes on each hive.  I did get them to finish drawing out the partial or undrawn frames that were in the hives but figured trying to go for another whole super was out of the question, so it's burr comb galore to give them as much stores as I can in the available space.

It's weird to see the bees foraging and still consuming more honey than they're bringing in.

I am going to pull some supers of goldenrod next Tuesday.  Maybe I'll persuade my dad into making some mead.
