Powdered sugar dusting?

Howdy,
  I searched and did not find the answer I need. I need to know if sugar dusting starting today and doing it again 7 days apart for 4 more treatments will be detrimental to the spring build up. this is my first spring with them and I do not want to mess them up.

This is how I control the mites in my hives. You can do the dusting any time of year, just do not want to dust on top of the honey supers and pollute the honey.
