Brendhan, what the blazes is the point of having a colony with that many boxes,other than novelty, or to get noticed.  One would get noticed and I wouldn't be too interested in working the bees at a height like that, crazy stuff.  Have an awesome day, Cindi

When I first started I thought yeah, I will have a hive with 12 boxes on it. And think of all the honey. I got to about 8 and said never again. I don't do more than 7 boxes now.

It should be noted that the "gentleman " who helped get the kid started is Tim Arheit, owner of Honey Run Apiaries, The guy I buy my vented covers from. Spoken to him over phone and seems very pleasant.

Two deeps and four mediums on a hive are plenty enough for me, especially if you have them on an elevated stand, which I don't recommend. It gets heavy up there.
