I decided to place this in General for a few days, giving everyone a chance to see it. Please Dallas, don't move me - lol  :-P

Hi Everyone:

Today our Beekeeping forum Starts it 5th Year, another wonderful milestone that I wanted to share.

I'm really glad that we have our friendly and reliable format to communicate as we have all these years. To many of you, you have been around since our infancy, so you know the hard work and efforts put in by the Moderator Staff, who make our site enjoyable to all.

With the Great Admiration of FATBEEMAN our Ventrilo Chat membership has doubled and extra spaces (15 now, but likely to climb) are available 24/7 for you to VOICE and/or TEXT chat with other members world wide - over 30 people have repeatedly visited our Voice/Text chat.

Without being offensive to the regulars, we recently have seen VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and PASSIONATE new members join over the last 2 months - MOST who are now nightly regulars!!!!!

I hope more and more of you join in CHAT - it is a special place, not just a sterotypical idea of what chat is. We are friends and family, knowing and learning multiple things about people from around the Globe. Honestly, I know I like to hype our Ventril Chat, but it is mainly because I'd like to here the "REAL YOU" you know, the the opinions that create an image of who you are, but the real person talking LIVE really builds relations and friendships. Truly, we have the ability now to build Ventrio Chat to around 100 members if needed. If I only had one wish, it was that more people would at least listen in and see what the heck I'm even talking about.

So, "Happy 5th birthday Beeforum, you have really done well for yourself. It is an honor to be a part of a team and a membership "that I would bet a paycheck" is as pleasant a group as any on the Internet!" That is something we all take pride in :) Good luck and I hope everyone knows that we are going to be around a very long time - long after I return to dust, actually it is a rewarding though really - knowing that I have a legacy that will passed down.

To the recent members, wecome to our forum. We are just one of many beeforums on the net, but our membership takes pride in learning about you, not just interact about beekeeping - having a community who wants to learn stuff about their neighbors "talks" very good of our group. We have a common rule of "Agreeing to Disagree" almost a miracle policy when you think of the World's Politics.

Here we enjoy the light to heavy beekeeping topics, we have many forums to post and read in, so look around and PLEASE try to post your messages in the most appropriate forum - people don't tend to like Moderators moving there posts, but frankly that is what they do very well. It may not serve someones fancy, but in the long term (people search terms, forums, etc.) we like to keep our archives in logical order.

Anyone with a question if unsure where to post, please contact any moderator or admin for assistance. It is easier if YOU place it in the RIGHT FORUM to start with, than to get pee'd off at a Moderator for moving it on you. Ask firat if you aren't sure.

To everyone just hanging in the wings, watching and reading but NOT registered yet, please do - no matter if you have minor interest in bees or enjoy our political go-arounds, join in and share your ideas, we love when new members join - often we get a jewel of a new member :)

That you all for the wonderful replies - it is mine and our pleasure to bring the forums to you, and we thank you for all your participation.

I also need to thank the people who have contributed financially to the forums, I surely do not want you to think I have forgotten you here. Your donations are being put to use to expand the ventrilo chat on a dedicated server, protect the beemaster.com domain name, continue to grow modestly, and PLEASE remember, microphones for people who want to chat with us, but need a mic are available If you need a mic for chat, please PM ME and I will have one sent directly from Amazon to you discretely of course.

That is it for this post. I'm proud to be able to write such a thank you letter, it sure is something!. Thanks.

Please enjoy the forum, and if it has helped you in any way, we hope that a small donation can be made to support our FULLY member supported forum. You will never see advertisements here, and that is because of the generous members who have made our forum possible. We are in our second decade as a beekeeping forum and all thanks to member support. At the top right of every page is a donations link. Please help if you can.

John, beautiful, you have such a gifted way with words, I have told you this before, and I still to my guns.  Your creation of a forum such as this and the maintenance of a forum such as this shines through with beauty.  It is a clean place to spend time, and your words are listened to.  There is no fear of any harm here, a totally safe place to be.  I want to thank you and the other that work so hard to fulfill this.....my hat off to you all.

Five years, that is a long time, and as you said, it will gone on and on and on, never wearing out.  Job well done, and yes, thanks from my neck of this woods too, have the most beautiful, wonderful and greatest of days, groove on our lives.  Cindi

I guess happy birthday to us all or something like that, and a sincere thank you, to the creator of this great place, John! And also to mods and other John's helpers.
