Hi all

I want to replace a few frames in a couple of my hives this year with new ,do any of you know the best way of going about this ,or are there any simple methods i could use.I have heard about the Bailey method but dont know much about it ,can you enlighten me please .
The weather here is still damp and wet and am itching to look at my girls to see all is well with-in,but i know i have to wait till the weather turns for the better, so frustrating .
Hope your girls are all well and happy .look forward to your responses.

Regards Eric,

Robo

You can cull out frames by slowly moving them to the outside until they have no brood and then remove them.  Place you new frames in the center a few at a time as you move the older frames out to the sides.

Thanks Robo will try when the weather gets a bit better.

I the early spring is when you're most likely to find combs empty.  That's the best time to take them.  Work the ones you want to remove to the outsides.  When there is plenty of honey in the hive, you can take the ones with honey as well.
