I call it my Fool's Hive because I got the call on April Fool's Day; a woman (Max) called me from Berkeley to let me know of a swarm that landed in her neighbor's avocado tree.  Even though I had two calls where the bees had left by the time I showed up, my heart started racing and I grew very excited about the prospect of nabbing my first swarm.  It was most excellent that I was only a mile or two away and when I got there, sure enough, there they were.

I set up my hive, climbed the ladder and clipped the branches.  They were so gentle; not a one seemed concerned about my presence and what I was doing to them.  Into my hive they went and there they stayed; picked them up last night and they started flying at their new home in my backyard this morning.

Alan, cool and good, I can tell by the look on your face in the pictures that you were a very happy man, yeah!!!  Beautiful and great day, Cindi
There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service
