Sourwood blooming

I noticed sourwood blooming last weekend on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee.  Started seeing it when I got to the higher elevations along the highway.  Went back this weekend and saw considerably more blooming.  The rain finally came and everything looks fresh and green.  My hive has a lot of nectar stored.  I just wish I had started with drawn comb.

Just remember to keep throwing supers on when they are 50% drawn. Mine drew and filled comb incredibly fast in the sourwood flow, and one of my hives swarmed when they ran out of space.

Just pulled off two shallows; one was 90%+ sourwood. It makes a really pretty honey, crystal clear with almost a lime tint. It has a really clean flavor, but its just not funky enough for me. The wild flower stuff they made tastes incredible. I think it's mostly chinese privet but hard to be sure.
