I started my first hive in June with a 5 frame nuc.  After they built out the first deep I added a second.  The second deep is about 60% built out.  I have been feeding since I started.

1) Do I add a medium when they are done building out the second deep?

2) When do I stop feeding?

Thanks in advance.

I would add a medium if there still drawing wax and expanding. If they have not built up any stiores to amount to anything,I would leave the feeder on.
If there is a strong flow in the fall they will probably ignore the syrup and fill the hive with nectar.

Once they have drawn all the frames in the two deeps, I would base additional feeding decisions on the amount of stores they have. If they've got the whole upper deep already full of syrup, there's no point in adding a medium to have them fill that with syrup, too, because then you have to wait for them to empty it before you can use it as a honey super. It's unlikely that they'll swarm at this time of year, and the queen is already slowing down her laying, so just get those last frames drawn and then feed only as needed.
