I just recently been reading information on beekeeping

i have a super which was given to my father a couple years back and was left in are backyard, which holds a good hive of bees in (California)

my question is if its OK to add a hive body in the fall. the reason is i looked at inside and the super is full and the bees are still collecting pollen

Well the temperatures can vary widely in Cal. So where are you in Cal?

I would wait on adding another super this late, it could create too much space in the hive come their winter cluster.
