I kept seeing bees(don't know if they are mine or not(couldn't see the branding marks :-)!)) when i was mowing the grass yesterday. THIS IS FUN!!!

I noticed yesterday that the bees were in the grass also. No flowers around but they seemed to like one certain area. I lost count at 20 in one spot.

I think there is something in the grass they use in the bee glue.
Some pollen from that really short grass in bloom.doak

Yeh, Zzen, You'll start seeing bees everywhere!
Its kinda like when I used to do alotta nite fishing with a bobber....Id stare at that bobber so long in the dark in lanternlite, That I'd go home, go to bed, shut my eyes......and there would be that bobber!!! The image was burned onto my retinas! Even during the day, for weeks, I could close my eyes and after a second or 2, I'd see that bobber!! Just floating in the dark!
The bees seem to be everywhere like that now, except the bees REALLY are there!
I see 'em mowing...i see 'em at work....I see 'em at walmart...EVERYWHERE!

It's amazing how that works i do the same thing.  See them everywhere and wonder where thier home is as there aren't too many beekeepers left around here.  It's just like buying a new car you think your the first to get one or the only one to have one that color around.  Think again ya buy a car and for some odd reason you see them everywhere.  I never knew there were so many Pontiac Soltices running around town until i got one lol.
Take me to the land of milk and honey!!!

Could even bee a small water seep.  Bees will go to ground for water, nectar, or propolis sources.

Scadsobees

They will collect dew or water from the grass when it rains. -r

I was kinda wondering about this since I have been seeing my bees in the grass away from the hive.  Now I know: Thirsty or just need some glue to keep me out hehe.
Semper Fi to all my brothers out there
