Our family in brief;

   We have a small 5 acre family farm. Chickens for eggs, rabbits for meat and goats for milk. Now also BEES for Honey. By far Bees are, our favorite.

   My son and I recently built a top bar hive and installed a 3# package of bees. I tide small pieces of comb to a couple of the middle bars, the bees loved them. I got the comb from a jar of honey we bought from a neighbor.
        After checking them about thee days later....I think I should post the rest in an area specified for questions!  I have a movie/slideshow ready.  As I gain the trust of the administer of this forum I would love to share our many pictures.

Welcome to the forum Walking Plow. It sounds like you are into self sufficiency, there are others here who share the same interests with you besides the bees.
I wish you luck with all of it. Happy beekeeping. :)

neat. I never would have thought of using the comb from a jar of honey to make a package or swarm feel at home. clever.
be happy and make others happy.

Welcome to a great discussion place!  Where in NE Ga?  I have a place in Rabun Gap and am up there quite often.  No bees up there yet, though - worried about bears and liability.

There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service
