a woody plant killer will work better than Roundup. Add a little dish washing detergent to the mix. It will help the plant killer stick better to the leaves.

Being blond, blue eyed, and pale skinned, take my advise. If you get it on your skin, wash the area immediately. If you break out don't try to doctor it with OTC ointments, go to the Dr. and get a shot. Works fast.

Don't just wash use a little bit of either bleach or ammonia - both are strong bases and neutralize the poison.  It really works - if you do it pretty soon.

Salt the ground with table salt
You can get a pound for about a buck then just pour it on the ground above the roots problem solved no overspray to worry about

Keith

That is an interesting thought.  Invading armies used to do it to the people they conquered, so perhaps I can conquer poison ivy (at least temporarily) with salt and forget worrying about chemical contamination.

Pour scalding water on it first, or feed and weed.
Once it is down get some asphalt shingles or some old time linoleum rug and lay down a carpet, helps with other growth also.

Note.
If you have any poison oak/ivy you can leave, the bees love the blooms, sounds like a swarm when they are working it. No kidding, been there done that :)doak

I second ASPRINCE add Dawn dishwashing soap to whatever you use. It will break down the oils on the leaves and kill better.
