Messed up frame

I do not know what you call it but when we bought our hive the bees had allready drawn cells up away from one fram so that it is away from te foundation, and the queen could be behiend that comb, is there a way to fix it or should we just live with it?

they do that sometimes.  often it's because the frames were not pushed tight together, but i have had them do it even when the frames were tight.  usually i don't mess with it unless i catch it really early or if it interferes with moving frames.  it's up to you.  if you want to scrape it off you can, but do it carefully.  as you say, the queen may be in there laying.

I usually move bad frames to the outside (over a few weeks if they are in the middle and have eggs and larva) and then remove it when the queen no longer lays in that comb.  If the hive is densely populated, that point may not come until fall, but most of the time I don't see a lot of laying in the outer frames, even in summer.

I'd cut it out and rubber band it into an empty wooden frame.
