Wow,  didn't expect this much response over a question about giant pickers!!  They are about three  feet tall right now and the whole field over there is turning purple.  I don't know If I will get any honey off of it as The bees haven't even filled much of the second brood box.  They do have a lot of capped larva as of last Saterday though so Maybe once they start hatching they will start building out the top deep?    Once I start seeing some action in there then I can add a super right?  Even a couple of frames of honey would be really cool the first year.
