I am a new beekeeper in Star City, Indiana.  Started out in April of last year with two hives.  I think this bee thing has become an addic tion for me.  Hoping some of you beeks can teach me the ropes.   I have lots of questions.

beekeeping is addicting :-).  as addictions go, this is a good one.

welcome to beemaster.

when you get a chance, go into your profile and post your location.  i know your name will give us your state, but a county or township would be helpful later for answering questions.

Welcome to the collective hive.  You will find answers to many of your questions, and will answer the questions of others over time.  Hey, you may even have lots of fun, too!  Good luck and enjoy!

There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service

Hello and Welcome!

This forum is a good place to learn more about bees and beekeeping. Be sure to check out the tutorials on the main Beemaster page.

Are you involved in a beekeeping club? Clubs are great for finding mentors and getting connected to nearby beekeepers. Given your location, I'm not sure if you're closer to the Northwest Indiana Beekeepers http://www.lakenetnwi.net/member/beekeepers/about.htm
or the Michiana Beekeepers:  http://indianabeekeeper.goshen.edu/mba.html

Also, the Indiana State Beekeepers are having our spring meeting up in Marion on Feb 20th (website should be updated soon). Maybe we can meet there!
