The direction for plant spacing should come with the plant.
Black berries produce an amber/clear, or if  you had rather, light color honey.
Jelly, pies, cobbler, etc.

Your county Extension office should have literature on any thing you need. :)doak

My parents live in NE Indiana and have lots of wild raspberries. When they start to bloom you cant stand close to them because of all the bees. I tried to plant some hear but it doesn't seem they like the raspberries or maybe I dont have enough yet. I get all my raspberries from a greenhouse and they are about 2 year old plants. I am currently up to 10 different bush area for raspberries. Good luck and it can never hurt to palnt things for bees.

I wrote in another chain that blueberries need a special soil. pH must be 4,5 and not over 5.

When you combine  silt and acid peat, they grow easily. I have  American blueberries in Finland and some grow one metre stems  in a year. In greenhouse they grow 3 times faster than outside. However in greenhouse berries are small because they have often lack of water.

A greenhouse is good to pregrow them and them put outside.

I have not learned yet to grow raspberries in greenhouse. Stems must be few that it is easy to pick rippen berries. If the plant is too bushy, berries take mould easily.  But the yied is huge and tasty from Polka rasberry. It gives berries continuosly.

I have had a project 3 years. I have tried to find from nature wil giant raspberries, Then I plant them on river banks in wilderness.  I have noticed that real wild raspberry stem is 10-60 g. Near houses I have found biggest stems which are 180 g. They must be crossings between cutivated and wild raspberries. Berries are small like in wild ones.
