2009 worst honey crop ever - Prices rise per consumer pound

Back in October, 2009 - and not counting hobbyist beekeepers, Kim Folttum of thedaliygreen.com also the editor of Bee Culture magazine, reports an estimated total of 119 million pounds, produced by 2,223,000 colonies in 2009,  down from an average of 61 pounds of honey harvested per hive to 53.7 pounds each.
