Acts2:37: Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39: For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40: And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation

I am a first year beek but I recently read in the Backyard Beekeeper that during the process they lose their reproductive parts. See this board members lucky sight just the other day... Mated Virgin

Glad I am not a Drone bee..  :jawdrop:
Bees are the key to life as we know it.

Drones die after mating the queen in the same way that worker bees die when they sting you.  Their stingers are pulled from their abdomens.  In the case of the drones, their reproductive organs are pulled from their abdomens and then they die.

Ouch!

Well, somebody's got to do it!

To add to the intrigue...I've read that there is an audible popping sound when the drone is ...uh... separated from the queen.

He's going out with a bang.

Yeah, I sometimes give presentations, and you should hear the responses when I describe those details to the 3rd graders!!!

Ha ha, just kidding, I skip most of the drone information with the kid presentations, but I have described some of those details to adult presentations, and it is received with some shock....

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
