I got my first swarm of the season.  My dads nieghbor has bee's that are living in the walls of the house.  The neighbors don't mind them being there so we just leave them alone.  However they swarmed yesterday and the neight gave me a call.

I was able to catch them.  The warm is about the size of a football.  This one was simple they were only about 7' off of the ground.

Nice swarm! It is so fun to gather them up and hive a new colony! I can't wait for my first call of the season!

Not sure that I would want bees living in the walls of my house though. Just seems like maybe a fire hazard and doesn't it damage the house in otherways as well... I'm imagining bees in every wall after a while and propolis, wax and honey all gooed into everything ( like electical ect).??

I am glad that they let them live there.  I got some free bees  :-D.

It is fun to get them.  I have been wanting some extra hives, but haven't had the money to purchase a package.

I was excited when I got the call and we rushed over right away.  And I think I got everyone.  We got there around 5:00 p.m.  And after putting most of them in the hive, there were still a bunch flying around and going back to the limb that they were on.

We left the hive on the ground near where the swarm was and went back before dark.  There were still a few flying around, but just as it was getting dark, they started going in.  Finally there was none left and we blocked up the entrance, strapped the hive together and off we went to there new home.

They were already out this morning at 6:30 doing there orientation flight.
