when and how to clean the inside of the smoker

I can see alot of build up on the inside of my smoker, when and how should I clean the smoker out?

When the whole thing goes up in a huge ball of flame when you light it you're just a tad too late :-D You can burn out the creosote with a torch or scrape it out with a hive tool, it really isn't a problem until you can't open or shut it properly.

use a berns-o-matic torch when you need to clean it I do mine once a year unless it gets too sticky.
just burn the cresote till it turns white scrape clean.
