Orange Oil

Hey JP and others. Have anyone ever tried spraying orange oil into where the hive used to be after removal to prevent the bees from coming back?

Why would it. Orange blossom honey is one of the best. They don't mind working those trees.

Yeah, I thought of that too. Because orange oil is used on ants, termites, and perhaps other pests, I thought maybe they use it on bees too.

There is nothing available that you can use that will keep bees away long term. Their sense of smell is beyond our comprehension.

You could use a bleach solution to clean up the area, even paint the affected areas with an oil base paint (several coats) this may (might) deter, I'm guessing not 100% effective though.

Fill the void space completely (no gaps) with roll insulation (sprayed foam is good, albeit, I've seen them eat through that).

You should be thinking "Bee Proofing" caulking and sealing to keep bees out. This is best.

Citral is in orange oil and is in nasonov and is in mosquito repellent....
