I have seven hives currently.  I originally placed six of them and they are at least ten feet apart along a trail beside my pond.  Now I am looking at putting either six or eight more up.  Can I place them a few feet apart?   Is there any rule of thumb on this?  I see some yards where the hives are two abreast?

The only drawback I see is, Just how many hives do you think your wife is going to allow you to have?

We place 4 hives on each 32"x48" pallet (8 framers). Close enough?

When they are that close do you have any problem with robbing or anything?

Iddee,  my wife ask me today if I was looking at making this my retirement hobby for extra cash,  she actually said, you got 40 acreas, you might as well do something with it!    After yesterday maybe I will be a little shy of getting to many, but the burning is going away.  funny no itch?

Ok then,  for my benifit and the ease of inspections I should be good to go at a couple of feet then.  That way I can have a lot more in desired areas instead of spreading them out so far around the place.  Thanks.  I think I have a good winter project in building boxes and frames!  Just hoping these swarms winter well.
