went to Varnado, Louisiana, today & got my bees.
the guy I got them from's name is Louis Busby. He has been keeping bees for 55 yrs, that's right.
could have spent the whole day there with him but we both had to get back to the busy world.
did not release the bees this evening, ran out of daylight.
I will release them tomorrow evening , though.
**QUESTION-I would like to know what kinds of water sources you provide for your bees?
thnx, JP

Cool! Good luck on the release - mine went pretty smoothly even though I had no experience.

My bees are located about 150 feet from my pond, so that is all they use for water. I use a hive-top feeder and I am using 2:1 sugar water to get them drawing out comb. Everything seems to be going well so far.

My two cents...

I'm right next to a creek so I also don't supply water, but  I know that some people are using buckets with floats in them, chicken waterers, and others use boardman entrance feeders filled with water.

thnx for the responses.
I've been thinking of adding a wall fountain on my high fence, that is right behind the hive boxes, if they're not ridiculous in price & too labor intensive to set up & maintain.
