How about honey robber in hot tub?

I was wondering if honey robber or bee go could be used in my neighbor's hot tub to discourage the bees from getting in. Would this make the water unsafe to sit in? Would this work?

Thanks,

Honey Robber or Bee Go stink.  There is no other way to describe the smell.  They reek!  If you can find a worse smell on the planet, I would be very surprised.  AND I certainly wouldn't want to bath in it.

Fischer's bee quick just smells like benzaldehyde.  In other words, marishino cherries or artificial almond flavor.  But I wouldn't want to soak in benzaldehyde and I doubt the smell would last long at the temparatures of a hot tub.

I would just try to provide a constant, more convenient, and (at first) a smellier source of water.  You can try chlorine (not very much, a few drops of bleach will do) because that may be the smell they are already homed in on, or you can use lemongrass essential oil (not much because it will float and the concentrated oil will kill the bees) or anise or some other smell the bees can find easily.  Once you have them coming to that water source the smell will be irelavant.

Really Stinks;  Smells like a vomit filled port-a-potty in August... In South Carolina.

It is more than Bee-Go it is People-Go;

I am thinking of marketing some as a replellant for relatives.

Try covering the hot tub for several days (week?) and provide an alternative water source for them to find.
