Hi all,
Crazy hive is doing not too bad.....a few weeks back found the hive with no stores, spotty brood and 2 queen cells - today I went out to do a complete inspection and found about 8 frames of honey all of which is in the initial stages of being capped, 2 boxes of solid capped brood, about 15% drone cells and the last box really a mix of everything.  In the midst of all of this, I stumble across the queen, the bottom box, the 6th frame position...yahoo~~~~~

Thanks for everyone's support here!!

Hey chris,

Congratulations mate! it's an amazing feeling isnt it! i actually spotted my first unmarked queen the other week which was very exciting! now that you've spotted her though do you find you actually worry a lot more about where she is on the frames when you're putting the hive back together? I get so nervous about accidentally crushing her between frames or something - i know they will get out of the way if you go slowly but it's a whole different matter convincing yourself of that  :-D

my uncle in stone harbor nj(the first person to have bees there)--did the same, just going threw the hive not even looking for her and he found her --he was so excited
lets throw it in the air and see which  way it splatters

This is how I find all my queens. I never find them when I am trying to.
