Jackson Ave. trapout

Got a call for a swarm at a night club that is in the renovation stages. When I got there is was around back but what I found was a block wall that had several holes with spray foam coming out if them. I asked who had done this and nobody knew anything.

The owners wanted the bees gone so we decided to do a trap out. This morning I went out to steal a frame of eggs from one of my stronger hives and found a frame that had several capped queen cells. I gently removed one and also stole a frame of mostly capped brood. Took the queen cell and pinned it to the frame of brood with a small frame nail and noticed that she was just about to hatch out, she was starting to cut the cap off of the cell. Got my cone made up and headed out to the trap site.

I checked on the hive today and found the queen so this hive did accept her

JM I brought them home on  4-20-11 and finally had time to find the queen yesterday, she is starting to plump up a little. On the day I installed the queen cell 4-15she was starting to hatch out, which means her mating flights should have been on 4-20 to 4-21. I will look for eggs in 10 to 12 days and see what is happening. I only got one frame of bees out of the wall so I will most likely have to boost them up with a frame of brood. I would like to see this queen laying eggs before I give them an extra frame of brood, my thinking is if she is not yet laying they may decide to supercede her by building a new queen cell.
