Foudations in PA

does anyone know where i can buy foundations for my frames in PA close to Butler area??? also I'm looking for someone who can come to my office in Butler PA and take a look at my boxes, frames and help me figure out how to set them up... I'm getting my bees the 24th and incase you couldn't tell I'm new at this, this is a project my father and I are starting together and I can use any help I can get.

I can not speak for others, but there are folks who are huge resources to new beekeepers.

I invite you to join Pennsylvania Apiculture Inc., or another group in your area. The Reich family listed above are active in several. Part of joining most groups is the ability to rub elbows, take advantage of mentoring programs, receive emails and newsletters with timely advice, etc. And one of the things we advise all new beekeepers is to take the initiative to actually make the effort to visit other beekeepers. Mentoring or helping is not always about the other beekeeper driving and spending time at your place. It means the person being mentored actually making just as much of an effort and doing the driving, etc.

We have way to many people who think being mentored means being able to call up another person at their whim, and having someone else drive to their place, do what is needed and inspect a hive, then do nothing till the next time they need help. Yet they would never get in their own car and drive to another beekeepers place to spend some time learning.

Join a club, meet some beekeepers, ask to visit some apiaries, and become a resource to others. You will benefit greatly.

That's ok buzzbee. Only reason I remeber that is because I get off the turnpike at bedford when I take the wife home to see her family. I keep threatening to stop. I'm not sure where butler is.
