when should I check to make sure the new queen is laying.  requeened last friday and she was out by early sun.   Put a honey super on the hive yesterday to give them some room to move stuff if she needs it and they were back to being nice..  this is the hive that was so MEAN last week when they were queenless. thanks bob

Everyone is different, but I wait one week.

If its a mated queen and she has room to lay, then she likely would start laying upon her release, give or take a day or two.

Sometimes it takes awhile for them to kick back into gear. While some may begin laying almost immediately, other times it may be nearly two weeks.
