How many hives would you have to have to consider your area a apiary ? Just was something i was mulling over durring work. Ive seen some with just one and othres with 10 or more. Just was wondering what number you yourself would consider minimum to have ?

One colony that is kept by a beekeeper is an apiary.  The only way one colony would not be in an apiary would be if it were a feral colony that is there on its own will and you dont do anything with it.  If you had 100 colonies and had each one at a separate location, you would have 100 apiaries.
