Ok,
this is for a couple of other people, I have two hives and ants do not seem to be bothering them.

But right next to my hives the ants seem to be going wild.
I know if the colony is strong they can fight them off, but I am still interested in bottom board designs for ant problem areas and different solutions to take care of the ants that will not harm the bees. Bait, ect.

My hives are on a platform and I have some friends who have hives orised above the ground.

Thank you

Hey Buddy
I have bees in Los Angeles.I have had hives abscond three differnt times because of ants.I get Boric acid the white powder and spread it around I also put a small can of sugar water close by for the ants also.I'm very cautious when I inspect my hives not to spill any feed or stuff like that I cut back on the inspections also hope these tips help
