Here in South Geogia we've had very little cold weather. Many days in the low 70's.   The last two nights have dipped down into the 20's. now today it's overcast and about 62. The bees have been  busy today and I noticed one hive doing a good bit of house cleaning.  They are removing quite a few larve and dead bees is this normal or should I be worried?

Thanks,
~Angie

The bees just got caught with their pants down like all of us from all the warm winter we have been having.   They went back into winter cluster and could not cover that brood that was killed.    My worry now is the hives I have that are low in numbers and may not be able to heat the hive during this cold spell.

Same here.  I expected to see white larvae or pupae, but instead I saw very young bees, with "helmet hair."  I looked them over good to see if there were any mites.

I noticed some little ones too. Didn't even have stripes on their little booty's yet!
