My first attempt at grafting...

The Bix

I grafted 15 cells and only one of them took.  It's difficult to tell just how big it is from the picture, but I measured it.  From the bottom of the cell bar to the tip is just over 1.5"

Looks good John!

I'll be practicing the same later on this summer year when "life" has settled down a bit.  I'm also going to make my own queen cups.

Did you put this into a queenless hive, or into a queenright hive?

I made up a mating nuc (queenless of course) and put it in there this past Tuesday.  Day 10 from grafting was this past Wednesday.

Also, I've read a few books and listened to many different ways to make queens and I decided to follow this procedure:
