I was on a reserve list to get package bees and somehow that fell through....so I am getting bees locally it is nuc in a deep and I wanted to do all mediums but I guess I will make do with what I get. Maybe if they do well later on and I can do a split I will make that hive all mediums

I would stack 2 mediums and put the deep frames in them. Work them out one at a time when the mediums are drawn. Just remove the outer deep each time the brood emerges.

No problem.  I started the same way.  Follow iddee's advice.  Search back a few weeks there was a detailed discussion on this with several techniques.

Start out with one deep and wait till queen moves up to mediums and all brood hatches from deep then remove deep.  Save deep for swarm trap or feeder box.
