It's been really hot here 105* average for the last two weeks.. Just before the 4th we robbed the hives. For the last 12yrs, I have harvested the honey, set the supers out to be cleaned by the bees and then placed them in storage!  This yr, ALL of my hives are bearding so badly. I know it's really hot and even tho we have been dry there are two ponds and a small creek on our property. Each hive has two hive bodies and two med. super.. What should I be doing??? What are they telling me?   COULD I/ SHOULD I be splitting them? What are the odds of them swarming? I have nuc boxes, I will have a TBH tomorrow... Just never seen so many bees on the front landings and on the hive it's self.. Thank you

On hot and steamy nights, would you rather be out in the breeze on the front porch or stuck in a hot box?    I think it is good to see some bearding.  I would not fret over it.

Our hot has been better last few days.  Today hi 92 low 72 and showers every 2 or 3 days, now.  Maybe the weather will move out for y'll soon too.  We are still having bearding.

Mine didnt really start bearding till it started to cool down. We've been 100+ for a couple weeks and I'd see small beards each night. Then I did an inspection and it dropped into the low 90s and they have been outside ever since.
