I'm a new member from upstate NY. I'm a long time country girl, and one year beekeeper, without much sucess so far. I'm trying again this spring with two new packages, after my last remaining hive succumbed to some myster over the winter.  :'( Hoping to have this as a good resource going forward!

Welcome to the forum, Mouse.  Sorry to hear about your bees.  May you have better luck this year.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Welcome!!  Did you get much from the storm last night?  It came down pretty hard in the Canangaigua area but luckily didn't last long.

American blood spilled to protect the freedom and peace of people all over the world.  320,000 USA casualties in WWI, 1,076,000 USA casualties in WWII, 128,000 USA casualties in the Korean War, 211,000 casualties in the Vietnam "conflict", 57,000 USA casualties in "War on Terror".  Benghazi, Libya, 13 USA casualties. These figures don't include 70,000 MIA.  But, the leaders of one political party of the United States of America continue to make the statement..."What difference does it make?".

"We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism."..."The press is our chief ideological weapon." - Nikita Khrushchev

came down hard, but not for long, so not much accumulation. Don't know if I'm happy or sad about that, I love snow, but I'm about ready for spring.

thank you everyone for the warm welcome and words of encouragment!
